Night Porter

40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7

Main Responsibilities:

  • Set, clear and clean all conference rooms to agreed standard
  • Set private dinners and weddings to agreed standard
  • Perform security procedures throughout the evening, 2300, 0300, 0500
  • Mop all areas of hotel on daily basis
  • Buff Orangery floor on weekly basis
  • Looking after delegates and all guests within our hotel
  • Answering telephones
  • Present a welcoming impression to all our guests
  • Providing 24 hour room service
  • Providing 24 hour Reception services
  • Bar service if required
  • Delivering newspapers


Other Responsibilities:

  • To maintain a high level of customer care throughout the department
  • To maintain hygiene standards in areas of responsibility


Financial Targets/Cost Awareness:

  • To control and manage to an agreed budget


Training Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the training of new staff and maintain individual training records
  • Support other departmental training as required, where appropriate


Emergency Responsibilities:

  • Fire evacuation procedures. Statutory obligations in line with company policies


Other Responsibilities:

  • Interact with other members of the team and support where appropriate
  • To act as a main point of contact for any customer complaints and to ensure correct handling
